My dad is quite something. When he came back from military service in the late 60s, he realized computers were the future so off to night classes he went to learn about programming.
And he never stopped learning, basically. I remember him attending regular training courses his employer would send him on whenever they acquired new mainframes. Dad had a long and rewarding career in the same company, a shirt and tie and briefcase kind of place. And because this is France and he started work so young, he was able to retire at 57 thanks to a new law that was passed a few years ago.
As a kid, I used to draw on used IBM punch cards. Pretty sure we still have some somewhere, too. 🤓
