Quite, the introvert.
In Paris for example, there are still many people with their nose in a book on the Métro rather than glued to their phone. It depends on what line you use (whether it’s one that has many tourists or not) but I’ve observed this many times at commuting hours.
And it’s book as in the object made of paper, ink, and glue, not e-readers as they never really took off in France.
While I love my smartphone, my social media presence is limited and I always stop and think before I share anything. As a result, the connections I’ve made are all intellectually enriching and involve actual conversations in print.
The internet is a great tool and I still believe it can help humanity evolve but only if we push back against profiteering hijacking it.
