Same. *sigh* It’s a battlefield of egos and greed most days and surfacing thought-provoking content is tough, no matter how you tweak your settings and recommendations, even if you disregard them altogether, which I do.

As for people running foreign language content into Google Translate, I didn’t even know it was a thing. As a multilingual human, I long ago realized Google Translate wasn’t exactly reliable so those using it clearly must have terrible language skills both in their native tongue and in whichever one they’re ripping off.

Writing with intent and content writing aren’t the same thing but many on this here platform conflate both. It makes the global dialogue all that much noisier, all that much poorer on an intellectual level as what they churn out isn’t remotely thought-provoking but it drowns out what is. There seems to be only one rule to get traction online: be the loudest for the longest. It’s obnoxious.

Je me demande souvent si l’internet ne nous rend pas plus bêtes, étant donné que nous ne l’utilisons pas pour penser ensemble ou dialoguer mais plutôt pour renforcer nos préjugés. Tous les hommes sont toxiques, toutes les femmes sont des mégères, j’ai pris mon pied avec une chaussette… 🤦‍♀️
