Our approach is similar, and so are our goals. Hopefully we’ll get somewhere in our lifetime with regards to making equality happen.
My birth country, France, has made headway with parity in government, and so has Canada, who — of course — were first.
France also has a new law that criminalizes catcalling and street harassment. Sad that we have to legislate to teach people how to behave like decent humans, but a step forward nonetheless (although I can imagine this would make Americans scream because free speech.)
Most importantly, we have a Secretary of Equality, her name is Marlène Schiappa and her one job is to move things forward. Her position is a new one that was created when Macron took office.
