The fact that words don't seem to mean anything anymore--or indeed matter--is problematic. We come from vastly different perspectives yet have reached the same conclusion.

"Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind," Orwell wrote.

And he wasn't wrong. The problem we've got is that communication seems to be breaking down irretrievably and I don't believe that's what the internet was created for.
