Were it not for fear of making the post look unsightly, I would have highlighted every single word here.
I realized this myself fairly early on in my 20s, when I was working very well-paid corporate jobs in Europe with tons of benefits and yet hated every single aspect of my life.
So I left all the material trappings behind and made the switch to journalism (that wasn’t easy but I pushed and pushed and worked very hard), which has frequently meant being unable to make ends meet. And when I couldn’t, I found creative solutions which involved diversifying. The result? I finally had a life that made sense, at last.
Although I’m still on the sidelines at the moment, this is what I’ll be going back to eventually, in one form or another.
This is a truly brilliant piece. Thank you!
