You are absolutely right, Frank Akino.

Arte is niche, always has been and shall remain but at least it’s an oasis of interestingness in the middle of garbage.

Sadly, French media has dumbed down a lot in recent years too and it’s a race to the bottom now. Everyone hosts controversial op-eds for clicks, everyone adopts viral strategies… And don’t get me started on BFMTV who found nothing better a couple of days ago than to give a government minister a microphone and let him play journalist during the day.

Unthinkable and yet, it happened. The line between journalism and government propaganda is getting so blurred it’s becoming one and the same thing for some outlets.

Because I live in the US and was away for five years, I feel like I’m hallucinating and it’s not a good state of mind to be in.
